We are looking for an experienced Engineer with a Design Background preferably in Mechanical engineering experienced in the relevant field.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will be a self-confident, detailed-oriented individual who can work independently at an advance level who can accomplish a wide variety of assignments. Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and industry standard practices. Work with other team members, inter-discipline teams and customer. Coordinate the design activities of the project from start to finish including coordination with the regulators such as TSSA, ABSA, APEGA. Builds positive working relationships with the external parties. Prepares proposals by developing execution strategy, estimating costs and presenting to customer. Position requires significant people contact and team building.
Must Have:
  • Engineering degree preferably in mechanical engineering and P.Eng. certification.

Job Duties:
  • Design proposals to customers.
  • Review and understand the scope of the project/assignment
  • Discuss with the customer and be aligned with the requirements

  • Coordinate with the internal and external design and engineering teams
  • Review the final design documents and drawings
  • Coordinate with the regulators if required.

As part of our global expansion, MECS Engineering Inc. (Canada) is establishing operations in India. We’re seeking a senior-level leader with a strong engineering background and an entrepreneurial mindset to help guide this growth phase – someone capable of overseeing technical execution, day-to-day operations, and business development.

This is a high-responsibility role that combines engineering leadership with strategic and operational oversight.


About the Role

You will work closely with our Canadian and U.S. teams, leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts and overseeing projects involving mechanical systems – including piping design, stress analysis, FEA, pressure vessels, Canadian Registration Number (CRN) submissions, and regulatory compliance. Our scope also includes civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls design.

Beyond technical delivery, this role includes operational planning, team development, and supporting initiatives that will help drive MECS Engineering’s long-term growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the engineering team in India
  • Ensure adherence to ASME, CSA, and applicable international standards
  • Interface with North American clients and internal technical teams
  • Coordinate daily operations and align delivery with global processes
  • Support long-term business planning, hiring, and development
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship building

Ideal Background

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in the engineering or industrial sector
  • Strong familiarity with ASME codes and pressure system regulations
  • Proven experience in engineering leadership and operations
  • Comfortable working EST hours (with some flexibility)

We are seeking a motivated and capable Senior Engineer to support our growing operations across North America to support our Canadian team in the day-to-day operations, technical execution and business development. 

About the Role

This is a hybrid role that blends technical coordination, proposal preparation, client interaction, and support for business development. You’ll act as a liaison between our international clients and internal engineering teams.

This is a remote role based in India to support our international operations, with coordination aligned to Canadian/US Eastern time zones.


Key Responsibilities

Client Interaction & Inquiry Handling

  • Respond to incoming client inquiries and RFQs.
  • Understand client needs, scope of work, and timelines.
  • Serve as the first point of contact

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in targeted sectors and regions.
  • Support relationship-building with new and existing clients.
  • Collaborate on outreach efforts (emails, calls, LinkedIn, etc.).

Proposal Development

  • Coordinate preparation and submission of proposals.
  • Work with the Canadian team and subcontractors to assemble scope, estimates,
    and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely, professional, and competitive proposals.

Internal & External Coordination

  • Liaise between clients and the engineering team in Canada or other locations.
  • Ensure smooth project handover, documentation flow, and status tracking.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and outstanding action items.

Market Research & Strategic Support

  • Track project leads, tender opportunities, and market trends.
  • Provide insight on potential partners or subcontractors in India or overseas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in preferably in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering consulting or services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with ASME codes and international standards
  • Comfortable working EST hours
  • Self-driven, organized, and willing to grow with the company
  • Familiarity

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our CRN and regulatory design capabilities by adding an experienced and capable professional to our team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) to take ownership of pressure equipment compliance activities. This includes design verification, code calculations, and CRN submissions across multiple Canadian provinces.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pressure vessel, piping, or fitting designs in accordance with ASME and CSA standards, and be licensed to stamp engineering documents.

This is a flexible role — ideally full-time, but part-time or contract arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. The position can be hybrid (Toronto-based) or fully remote depending on fit and location.

About the Role

  • Review, verify, and professionally stamp CRN-related designs, drawings, and calculations.
  • Prepare or support preparation of ASME VIII-1/VIII-2 and B31.1/B31.3 code calculations, and FEA-based justifications (as applicable).
  • Coordinate and manage applications for CRN registration in various Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies (e.g., ABSA, TSSA, BCSA), and internal teams to ensure timely approvals.
  • Stay current on design codes and provincial registration requirements.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in at least one Canadian province (Ontario preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pressure equipment design (vessels, piping, or fittings).
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Codes (VIII-1, VIII-2, B31.3, B31.1) and CSA B51.
  • Proven experience preparing or reviewing CRN applications in Canada.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
